I have Stage 4 Endometriosis

Hi Everyone,

It's as always a pleasure speaking to the world and letting them know what is going on in my life. I've never been shy of speaking my mind or letting people know what on it.

So i finally decided to start my blogg with different type of info that will help people. You know what I have going on in my mind on a specific day, so follow and away we go.

Not sure how many people know about Endometriosis, so for those of you that don't here is just some of the basics..
  • It is disease that affects a woman's reproductive system
  • About 1.7 million woman are living with Endo and don't even know they have it
  • It is not an STD so don't go and think it's something you can catch or something you can give, the only people who are affected are woman and their daughters.
  • It plays a major role in infertility and causes alot of stress on any woman and her family who has it
  • Right now there is no cure

I tell you these basis things because i don't want you to think that it's something that can be taken lightly.

I have had this disease for the past 16yrs of my life and was only recently diagnosed with Stage 4 last September 2011. I underwent two major surgeries to remove the endometrial scar tissue and cyst that were all over my ovaries, bladder, uterus, colon, and up into my large intestine. In this surgery they removed my appendix, 2 ft of my large intestine and the sigmoid part of my colon. It was gruelly 8 months of my life and I pray that all woman who are going through this or have yet to understand what Endometriosis is have a great support system as I did.

For years and years i complained of having bad painful crippling periods that would knock me off my feet and cause me to miss school, school functions, parties, family time, outings and many other things because for about 7 days out of the month i would not walk and felt like death.

It took for me to meet my loving future husband to be Mustafa, to finally have someone to lean on and get on this road to recovery. All I can say is thank you to everyone who was there for me.

Thank YOU Mom for giving me life and for spending every night that you could with me in the hospital while you feet and back hurt, for fighting with the nurses who didn't give me my meds on time, for just being a breath of fresh air.

Thank YOU Habibi, for finally letting me lean on someone other than myself, for loving me through the good times and bad, for dealing with my nasty ass attitude, for picking me up, for driving to every part of Yonkers to get my pain meds, for telling me every morning how beautiful I am despite how i looked, for making sure that I tried my best and didn't push myself to hard, for holding us down, for when i was finally able to walk still open the door for me, grab my hand, and tell me how much you LOVE ME!!!! THANK YOU
